PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCERESEARCH ASSOCIATE (BOARD DESIGNER)
INDIAN RESEARCH LABS, AGARTHALADEC 2004 – till date
Job responsibilitiesWorking as an individual contributor with Embedded Computing Hardware group, developed several Boards using RCM 3100, PIC 18F452, RFID MODULES,ETHERNET CONTROLLER, I2C Supporting devices( DAC,ADC, TEMPERATURE SENSOR, EEPROM),LCD etc., devices. 1. Design of Device Adapter Hardware: This involves Component Selection and Purchase, Interface Design, Schematic Entry, Board Layout, BOM creation EMI/EMC and Board Bring up. 2. Debugging of the Device Adapter Hardware: Testing of the hardware for proper signal and supply levels using Oscilloscope. 3. Testing and Documentation: This involves running various regression tests and Customer Documentation. Project : Design of Text LCD and KeypadDuration : 2 months (May 2006 to June 2006) Job Responsibilities1. Schematic Entry. 2. Board Layout 3. Debugging the Board 4. Writing Test Cases 5. Documentation The project is a wireless implementation of oximeters using a wireless card, PIC18F452 microcontroller, LCD character display, Keypad, Switches, Temperature Sensor, Potentiometer and a RS 232 interface. The board involved displaying the vital signals received from the oximeters plus the temperature and accepting data from the Keypads and Switches. The System consists of two boards in which the boards communicated to each other through I2C protocol. Involved in Developing the I2C Driver, LCD driver, Keypad Driver, ADC Driver. Project : Design of Audio Board with CAN Interface boardDuration : 2 months (Feb 2006 to March 2006) Job responsibilities1. Schematic Entry. 2. Board Layout Project : Design of Text LCD and Keyboard with CAN Interface boardDuration : 4 months (Oct 2005 to Jan 2006) Job responsibilities1. Schematic Entry. 2. Board Layout 3. Debugging the Board 4. Writing Test Cases 5. Documentation The board developed is a part of a system that utilizes Controller Area Network (CAN) protocol for board to board communication within the system. CAN is a serial bus system with multi-master capability, error correction, high noise immunity and real-time capability. The LCD displays the data entered through the Keyboard and also the data from the other boards through the CAN protocol. Involved in Developing the CAN Driver, LCD driver, Keyboard Driver, ADC Driver. Project : Design of Development Board for PIC 18F452Duration : 1 month (Sep 2005 to Sep2005) Job responsibilities1. Schematic Entry. 2. Board Layout 3. Debugging the Board 4. Writing Test Cases 5. Documentation
The board developed demonstrates the digital and analog peripherals of the PIC18F452 microcontroller and allows for rapid and easy prototyping without the need to design a printed circuit board to support the included PIC18F452 Flash microcontroller. The board includes all the circuitry necessary for in-depth study and experimentation with most of the on-chip and external peripherals of PIC microcontrollers. Involved in Developing the SPI Driver, UART, ADC Driver. Project : Design of Door Access system Duration : 8 months (Dec 2004 to July 2005) Job responsibilities1. Schematic Entry. 2. Debugging the Board 3. Writing Test Cases 4. Documentation The project involved development of a proof-of-concept implementation of a secure electronic locking system with multiple modes of authentication, including RFID-based cards. An embedded lock control module having a full-fledged TCP/IP stack and built-in cryptography was developed as a part of this project. Involved in Developing the Firmware for the project. Installing the Systems. REFERENCESWill be provided on request |
