TISS invites application for the post of

ASSISTANT PROFESSOR

at its Centre for Women’s Studies, School of Social Sciences on a contract basis for 3 years.

QUALIFICATION

• Candidates must have a good academic record with at least 55% of the marks or an equivalent grade of ‘B’ in the 7 point scale at the Master’s degree level, in the relevant subject from an Indian University, or an equivalent degree from a foreign University.
• Candidates should have cleared the National Eligibility Test (NET) for Lecturers conducted by the UGC or similar test accredited by the UGC.
• Candidates having the Ph.D. Degree are exempted from the NET.
• Candidates must have a Master in Social Sciences with teaching/research/field experience in areas like Gender and Development,Feminist Theory,Philosophy and Methodology,Feminist Literature and Women’s Writings,and Social Movements.

HOW TO APPLY

• Candidates to apply for form-1 should follow the instructions as follows.
• Candidates need to pay an application fee of Rs.200/- as Demand Draft drawn in favour of Tata Institute of Social Sciences, Mumbai.
• Application should be send along with DD,certificates in proof of age,caste,qualifications, experience,Passing certificate of NET examination and Five sets of each articles/papers/books published/papers presented at seminars/conferences, in the last 5 years.
• Application can be obtained from the Assistant Registrar (Personnel),either in person between 10.30 a.m. to 1.00 p.m. and 1.30 p.m. to 3.00 p.m.on working days OR on written request accompanied by a self addressed stamped (Rs.25/-) envelope (23 x 8 cms), super scribed “Request for Faculty recruitment application form”.
• Last date of receipt of application will be 20th March,2009.
• Candidates should also fill up the form-II.
